In Search of the Perfect Opt-In Tutorial

You figured it out. All of that yelling about how “the money is in the list” really is the truth.

Now you’re ready to hop on the list marketing bandwagon. Good thinking. You’re about to unlock a great deal of profit potential.

The problem, of course, is figuring out exactly how to get on the bandwagon. People have been happy to explain why list marketing works and just how amazing it can be. They haven’t necessarily been as forthcoming with a blueprint explaining how you can get involved.

You need a good opt-in tutorial. You need to know how to build that list.

Unfortunately, searching for a good tutorial yields a lot more trash than treasure. You get a lot of great stories about how much money you can make by cultivating and selling to a list, but you don’t get much in the way of detail. There are paid opt-in tutorials, but you’re not sure if you want to sink your money into anything that may very well be another recitation of “the money is the in list” without much of an action plan to accompany it.

Here’s the deal. There are some weak tutorials out there. There are also some very good ones. Here’s how you can tell the difference.

First, do a reputation check. Don’t just rely on reviews of the product itself. Many of those are written by affiliates with a stake in generating sales. You want to find out about the author. Determine how others in the IM world feel about the supplier of the information. This will give you a good idea of how happy a tutorial is likely to make you.

Second, look for details. Evaluate offers based on the presence of details promised within the tutorial. If an offer doesn’t specifically promise to show you all that you need to know, hold off on making an investment. You want to combine an overall perspective with a concrete step of actions. That means finding a tutorial that really is comprehensive.

Third, ask others for their opinions. Instead of wading through questionable reviews, ask others involved in Internet marketing for a recommendation. You’re probably a member of at least one IM-related forum. That’s a good place to start. Get some free guidance about finding the right opt-in tutorial.

If you use those three techniques, you can get a boost that will help you on to the list marketing bandwagon!
